He's not yelling. People new to typewriters (which came out 100 years ago, but not not reach every corner of America), had a hard time using the shift key + a letter key at the same time. So they figured out that if they use Cap locks, they did not have to use the shift key.

Leupold Opps, meant B/L, glass, new or old, quality stuff. You will see however, quite a few people leaning towards a larger, 80mm, objective lens. Brings in more light at higher mag. wider field of view also.
Invest in a GOOD tripod! Spindly legs equates to shake and at even 20 power it looks like a frickin earthquke in the scope with just a slight breeze.
As they say here, cry once, buy the best you can't afford.

I use a 24x60x80 Celestron, Manfrotto tripod, QD head. Have maybe 500 invested in the whole rig. Use it spotting at BPCR, IHMSA, precision rifle shoots etc. Strap it and the pod on a backpack for "armed hikes" in the Black Hills quite often.
It aint Swarovski (sp) by any stretch, but it works for me.

Bausch and Lomb is owned by Burris now. Which in my opinion is the best "inexpensive" glass company. In the future, I actually can see companies like Bushnell bankrupting all the little guys.

Re: SPOTTING SCOPE

Good info. My next purchase will be a spotting scope for the rifle I purchased a year ago. I just purchased my first weather meter, a Kestral 4000 NV. ANy other ideas here for something that won't break the bank but is still of good quality?

Re: SPOTTING SCOPE

I have owned a Bausch and Lomb Spotter in the past. It was 15-45x60 and I used it for mountain hunts. Great weight for optics, however at the higher X's you'll only receive about 1/5 available light. At that magnification, which you will only use once because of its limitations, an absolutely stable tripod will be necessary.

In the 20-30x range it will be sufficient until you demand more from your spotter. (Can afford more)
