I have a buddy that has a 308. It's in a HTG pillar bedded stock, krieger barrel, action trued, etc. Hear recently it has started to shoot 2 in the same hole and throw the 3rd shot anywhere from 1-2" to the left. Hot barrel, cold barrel, whatever it still throws the third shot basically to the same side and about the same distance everytime. Anybody got a explaination of that it could be.
175gr MK with 43 grs of N150. Have tried seated in land to out to .020 jump.

Re: stack 2 throw 1?????

Does it do it when someone else shoots it? Sounds like it could be a flinch developing, if you can't find a problem it's most likely the shooter. Try having someone else load up a dummy round somewhere in the stack IE an already fired brass with only a bullet in it. If "your friend" is flinching this will help identify it. It won't do much good if you know where it is or if your expecting it.

Whats it eat from?

In other words whats the feed system for the stick. Is there any way the third round is picking up a nick or scratch on the proj because of the feeding system?

Re: stack 2 throw 1?????

With 175 SMK's @ .005" off try 41.0 to 42.5 grains of H4895 in Lapua Brass and CCI BR2 primers. If it doesnt shoot that, it's broke.

Two in and one out is a classic ammo issue, it's double grouping.

Currently shooting 42.6 H4895 175 SMK's Fed 210M Lapua Brass. Shoots real good. 42.2 H4895 shoots real good also. Seated .003 off Lands. This load shoots good out of three A.P.A builds I know of. Agree with what wnroscoe says.
