Just saw the pilot. Seems like the same plot as Atlantis, cool ship, interesting cast. Seems darker than the others. But, in all my Sci-fi geekiness I will sit and see if it can live up to the others. It was ok. I like the fact that SG1 led up to the Atlantis series. This one kind of started out of the blue, only real drawback, like they pulled this one out of a hat.

Re: Stargate Universe.

Guess im a geek too. Watched but think their running out of plot. I liky syfy and guns.I like nascar and guns. I like football and guns. I like beer and guns. Guess im a redneck!

P.S. Did I mention I like guns.

Re: Stargate Universe.

It's definitely "darker" than the other SG series. Kind of makes me feel like they moved the Battlestar Gallactica writers onto this show. We shall see.....

I admit, I'm a Sifi nerd.

Re: Stargate Universe.

Saw it tonight, Im a little disappointed. But maybe like most shows, it may get better with time. Big fan of Battlestar, SG1 & Atlantis.

What got me is there is no real likeable cast members. No specialist that screem I'm cool or a brain. But then again maybe its just to early...

The ship looks cool.

Re: Stargate Universe.

Picked up the last half of last night's show after the Yankee game. Not enough to give an opinion. BTW what was that all about with the small ship peeling off the big ship in hyperspace in the last scene? Something sinister, to be develped in th plot at a later date?

Looks like plots in plots.

I'm going to try and catch the first two episodes on fancast or syfy.

You know I wanted to know the same thing. I think it was some sort of a hitchiker. I remember hearing that an old villian may be popping up. Perhaps a Gou'ld is amongst the refugees. Other things have caught my nerdy attention span. The ship itself, travels faster than light but not in hyperspace. I am going to give it the benefit of the doubt....for now.

Re: Stargate Universe.

Storyline is choppy so far..it is not the editing
Introducing subplots and conspiracies
Times it is difficult to follow...if it keeps up as is; it is dead

Re: Stargate Universe.

It's really slow, and is really focused on one issue with very little excitment.

It's like, they say, "The ship is broke, and this sand will fix it", then they spend 55 minutes walking through a desert to find the "right" sand... which was boring. I mean, with water, you're passing out after a walk, please.

They tell you, this button will fix today's problem and then spend all episode talking about the button only to walk up and press it at the end. No twists, no turns, no unseen excitement.

Oh, but it was special lime sand, or was it lame sand. Either way, you are right.

Stargate Universe in stores now!

Stargate Universe Season 1 in stores now! that was quick...

Just thought I would pass this along. Wal-mart has Season 1 in the new release section 29 and change. I’m not completely sure I’m going to like this show as much as the others... but I got SG-1 and Atlantis so why not add to the collection.

Re: Stargate Universe in stores now!

Update

This is not the complete first season but just ten episodes, every thing that has been to air thus far. According to a fan club I found online there are 10 more episodes coming for this season. Maybe they will call that release 1.5

Any who, the last few seemed to get better than the first episodes, more gate travel and less running around in a desert looking for sand...

Re: Stargate Universe in stores now!

I have been a Stargate fan for years. I was excited as hell when they said this was coming on. Still watching and getting entertained but find myself wanting to just hurry the hell up and get control of the ship. Gonna get old with the ship flies, ship stops, 6 hours, ship flies, ship stops. etc......

Complete Season 2 is in stores now and as I understand it, this is it for SGU... Just when it FINALLY started to get good!

Why is it that every show I get into, the axe suddenly falls on it?

FWIW, The last half of season two is excellent... if you have not already watched it.

I know they could have gone a few more years easily. Granted they would have had a problem with the "message" if they wanted it to make the fans happy and not to feel ripped off. Granted I feel ripped off since they canceled it.

Re: Stargate Universe.

Yes, it got good at the end. And, the entire end of the season had already been filmed before it got cancelled. So, they never got a chance to end it officially, unfortunately.
