I finally have everything for my next ghillie.
I have:
Large ACU BDUs
White Nylon Ripstop
Netting
Needle and Thread.

I may bleach the bdus so they are lighter colored and dont show throught the nylon as well.

I am also thinking about making a hood out of some of the Nylon Ripstop. I just dont know how yet...

Im going to use rest of the nylon for garnish and a bed sheet.(bleached before used)

So, Any help on how to sew the stuff on or how to make a hood?

Also, Ill get pics up as the suit progresses.

Re: Starting My next ghillie. Help?

DO NOT BLEACH THE ACUs!!!! it will weaken the fabric. leave the color as is. if you plan on attaching white material to it, the contrast of the ucp and the white will look good together and give depth to the ghillie.

Re: Starting My next ghillie. Help?

Just got stuff together for a Cobra Hood (not integrated into a ghillie) and I found an old Carhart hooded jacket. Ripped all the insulation out of it and just used the shell. It's a heavy canvas or duck cloth. A couple of vents and some netting and I think it will work. Might be something to think about. Never really tried to construct a hood from scratch. I always found something already put together. It turns out, I'm not real good with a sewing machine...as my fingers will attest. Good luck and post some pics when you're done!
