Rifle Scopes Steiner Military 3-12 x 50

Hey all,

Found a like new Steiner Military 3-12 x 50 for nice price. Everything I've been able to find says they're great scopes. It will be going on a Sako TRG22 in .308. Shooting will be on paper and steel from 100-500 yds. Anyone have any firsthand experience with the older military models?

I have the 4-16 model. Best glass Steiner put out. Those older 4X erector models much like the rest of the M series are bomb proof and track true. Enjoy the scope its a good one.

Those originals are great choices. If the mag range and reticle choice are acceptable to you, you're gonna have great luck. At your range and use it's a fantastic choice.

I used those for a while and loved them.

I also have an original 4-16 Military scope. One of my favorite scopes, and I think is perfect for a 308. Turrets track very well, and glass is awesome. Reticle is basic, but isn't a hindrance at all.

I've also used the new P4Xi 4-16 scope, and really like that optic as well. Glass is awesome, turrets are very nice with defined clicks and easy to zero, and it has the SCR reticle. I've read complaints about parallax issues, but that wasn't an issue at all. I'm not sure there is a better new scope in it's price range.

Seems like the 4-16s were the business. pretty much everything I've read reviews wise talked abut the 4-16.

The 3-12 is still a great scope, it just has less magnification so it probably wasn't as popular.

I loved the turrets on the 4-16M Steiners. I went away from them because of the size. Not sure they are much bigger than the Cronus and Tango 6 4-24 I have now.
