So I have this Stevens 200 in .308. I'm making this into a brush gun for my sister for her 18th birthday. I cut the barrel down to 16" and mounted a 1.75-4x Bushnell on it. With the tupperware factory stock it sits at 6.5 pounds fully loaded.
The stock itself weighs 1.5 pounds but it's a piece of shit, to put it nicely. I'd like to keep the total weight under 7 pounds, as when we go hunting we usually pack around for up to ten miles and I don't want her to have to carry a truck axle around. So this gives me up to two pounds for a stock.
Any suggestions for a stock under 2 lbs for a 4.4" screw spaced Savage that won't break the bank? I'd prefer an unfinished wood stock if weight allows but I'm open to plastic/finished wood as well, would just like to keep the stock at or below 2 pounds.
Thanks a bunch,
Brian
