Steyr Elite .308

my brother picked up a steyr....i dont remember which model. it was a pretty rifle, but i will tell you i was underwhemled with it. as i remember, there was part of the magazine well that was made of a plastic and they were infamous for breaking. anyhow, eventually he was underwhelmed with it too, and made a deal with a gentlemen in texas that wanted it.

i hope you all have nothing but great experiences with your rifles and the flaws i saw have been fixed.
I would be interested to know what model he had, if you could find out of course.

i remember it had a mannlicher stock, a set trigger, a butterknife bolt handle, and the plastic trigger guard/magazine well. 308 winchester. the guy that bought it knew a helluva lot more about them than i did or do. according to him, the magazine well/trigger guard were notorious for cracking, he said it was really hard to find one that wasnt. i wonder why they dont make them out of metal, and thought briefly about having a buddy of mine machine up some of them to sell, but never did. that’s all i got.
