stock cleaning question

Re: stock cleaning question

What type of paint are you trying to remove? Why not just paint over it.

Re: stock cleaning question

I also forgot to say that you should try brake parts cleaner on a little section and see if it even removes the paint. Some of the paint that the industry is using is pretty hard to remove with brake cleaner such as Cerakote. I don't believe the cleaner will hurt your stock in any way though if used.

~ Acetone ~

Be careful with brake and carb cleaners.

Re: stock cleaning question

Use acetone, looked at one yesterday that was done with brake cleaner and it got under the fiberglass and caused it to split. I think it got under the glass in a screw hole and did something to the filler to cause it to split.

Re: stock cleaning question

Thanks for the heads up with the brake cleaner. I will only use it on my barreled action and not the stock.
