I'm wondering if there is a business that supplies Mcmillan, Manners, HS Precision, and similar rifle stocks that keeps them in stock. I know that they can be ordered direct from the manufacturers, but I'm wondering if anyone keeps a number of stocks in their inventory.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. So far, I'm leaning toward the Manners MCS-T1 for a Remington short action. Or, is there a thread here for people selling stocks? I have checked on the search function, the WTT/WTB section, and the section for people selling things other than firearms, or optics..no joy so far though.

Re: Stock suppliers

Stocks regularly come up for sale in the "Options & Accessories For Sale" section of the PX (a couple spots above the WTB section you mentioned). A large percentage of them are for Remington 700 SA inlets.

Aside from there, you can also try:

JW Precision (a site sponsor that regularly stocks McM): http://www.jwprecision.ca/

MidwayUSA and Stocky's Stocks usually have HS Precision in stock and ready to ship (but there are usually a few in the PX in any given week)

As for Manners, I'm not sure other than ordering direct or getting on from the PX posts. Somebody else may know of a source that keeps a regular running order in with Manners and lists the stocks they receive for sale retail.

Re: Stock suppliers

Ord,

I have checked all those sites/threads you mentioned. I didn't know about JW precision or Stock's, so I'll check on those. Thanks, that was the kind of lead I was hoping to find.

My inability to find a Remington Short action when I want one is Murphy's law at work. If I wasn't looking for one, there would probably be a half different ones at great prices being offered. Maybe it is a good sign that people are building more rifles now, and as a result fewer swap, or used stocks are being available.

Thanks again for the tips.

Re: Stock suppliers

I have a B&C Anschutz stock on my 10/22, and after bedding, it shoots lights out! 3/8" @ 50yds with match ammo and no wind. I would also consider one on a centerfire budget build. Stocky's is the source. They stock and move tons of B&C, and HS stocks. If they have the one you want, buy it or it will get sold fast.
