2 DAYS LEFT: This Target Haunts Me Contest
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Does anyone have any long(ish) experience with this scope? I realize it’s fairly new. Curious on tracking mainly. I’m looking for a scope in this class/price to put on my B14R.
Thanks
In the Field Scope Tracking Test As many shooters have read in the Sniper’s Hide Forum, or have heard on the Everyday Sniper Podcast, during our precision rifle classes we removed and test scopes for tracking. The genesis behind this was twofold, first, we used to only accomplish this in our...

i have one but still recovering from shoulder surgery to even have a proper play with it.
I have been using a Strike Eagle 5 X 25 X 56 on my Bergara 14R. It tracks very well with audible clicks. It is also very clear at any power setting. I truly believe it is a great value for the price.

Same. It's been great. Only complaint is turret graduations don't line up 1/2 a rotation out from zero, but for the price it's amazing. Just ordered two more - one for my 6.5 HMR, and one for my brother's new CZ457.
Great buy for the money. Perfect for a 22. Will likely only ever see 300y max.
Put a giant *for the price* asterisk by all of this...
Glass is decent so far, but an overcast day doesnt really help show any major flaws.
Seems bright, didnt notice any real shittyness out toward the edges.
Definitely some CA (looks worse in pictures)
Eyebox is a little finicky but wont really be an issue once its mounted and the stock is setup.
*Edit* One thing I did notice that must have something to do with the eyebox on max power, the reticle once you have it focused has a “good” spot in the eyebox. Moving your head around can blur it pretty easily. Goes away on 18x and below.
Turrets are pretty mushy. From memory I’d say they feel about the same as the diamondback tactical line. But they do lock (which is probably good because they’re so soft and easy to turn)
I’d rather them invest that locking cost into making them more stiff.
Magnification ring is perfect and you get a free billet throw lever which makes it super easy.
Parallax ring is pretty stiff but thats not really a huge deal to me.
Nice toolless rezero turrets
Fit and finish on it is good. It doesnt feel like a cheap piece of junk (other than the turrets)
For the price, I’d definitely recommend it for a 22. If it was anything centerfire, I’d say for sure upgrade to the PST Gen 2.
gconnoyer,,,,,,,I don't experience any problems with the turrets or focus you are having. I would call Vortex and describe the problem to them. Almost all my shooting has been from 50ft to 200 yds so my turrets have been used frequently.
@gconnoyer, my turrets are stiff and tactile - light-years beyond my Diamondback Tactical. I'll have to compare our to the two new ones (when they show up in 3 months )
