Stuck in the taint

I never realised an ar 15 had a taint.

So cleaned a pile of guns today, no problems, well.

1 ar had many hundred rounds shot, my test sled.

So I worried about carbon ring and cleaned the hell out of chamber and throat.

Then came the barrel.
I pulled out a brand new brush and it was so tight I had to bang on it to go through.

A new coating of cleaners and a soak.

A second run with brush was a pita and I discovered that distractions had caused me to find the taint.

I figured the brush had seized up in the bore again while watching tv.

Nope it was in the taint.
I pounded on it.

So anyone that I have been a bitch to or offended can have a run on me.

This is the result of banging on a taint.

Make sure you get in the hole.

Note to self: Never allow @Snuby642 near my rifle with a cleaning rod.

FWIW, a couple of kroil/dry patches between outings will go a long ways and not strip it back to metal.

Possibly the cfe223 works.

Well my drink infused and sinus meds on an empty stomach while watching tv cost me a new carbine length gas tube.

I had skipped my supper to dine late nite with my wife when she got home.

Now I have to go boil my suppressor mount to get it off to dissasemble handgaurd.

Cut me out of a range day.

If you try hard enough a smaller hammer will work.

I tried to straighten gass tube but deemed it unreliable.

Third boiling soak on the rocksett comming up.

So one thing positive on my rocksett removal.

A 3lb butter tub, an electric kettle and a place to lean the upper / rifle.
Outdoors works since you can just dump over the tub and refill.

Three 15 minute soaks with fresh boiling water and off it comes with ease.

This is the thrird time without the overnite soak.

Now the drinking lamp is on.

All hammers are secured.

You must remove the BCG before using the cleaning rod that is attached to your rotary hammer drill
