stupid moment

Well I was pulling some .223 bullets yesterday and dumping the H335 in to what I thought was the pound that it came from, turns out I grabbed the wrong container, It is H4350. Mix is about 4000 grains of H4350 to 400 grains of H335, do I just toss it and not use it, or can I still load it up(loading a 270win) It is only about 14 bucks worth of powder. I just want to be safe, but hate tossing it out if it is still usable.

I'd toss it for the hassle of cleaning it out, but you can probably get a sifter small enough to sort the H335 through and leave the H4350 in the bowl. By the time you figure in the expense of a sifter and shopping around for it, plus the time to do it, it's worth just writing my name in the dirt and lighting one and at night.

Your not the first to accidentally dump one type of powder into the wrong canister.....simply throw it away and suck up the $14 as a lesson in paying attention.....I've done it.....it sucks....learned my lesson with a $27 pound of RL22.....LOL!

Just sprinkle it on the lawn, makes good fertilizer. I think we have all done this at one time or another. It's not really worth the effort to try a sift/separate. Risk versus reward, I vote to dump it and chalk up one pretty cheap lesson.

I'd mix it with a pound of Tannerite and see if the results make sparkles. But that's just me.

or you can amaze the neighborhood kids with some "magic"

when in doubt,....toss it out

Glad you found out before you loaded it,... might have been one of those "sucks to be you" moments and we all don't like to see those moments..

+1 for either fireworks or fertilizer.

I don't think that there is any way to predict the outcome of trying to use it for reloading anything, much less, safely.

For $14 worth of powder i'd error on the side of caution and throw the powder away. Why take a chance of a problem occuring.

I use stuff like that (or propellants that I no longer use to reload) for fire-starter when I do yard waste burns. Placed in a duct cap or old bread pan under my burn can & touched off with a bit of fuse or a propane torch, it gets things cookin' in a hurry even if the trash is wet or green....
