***update- all good now, sucker was just extra tight from the factory***

Forgive my ignorance, but are you supposed to loosen the allen head set screw near the power ring to adjust the diopter/focus setting on Nightforce NXS? In the instruction manual, it says to "hold the power ring and locking ring steady, while moving eyepiece counter clockwise." I applied a fair amount of force and nothing would move...

I just don't want to monkey anything up.

Thanks.

Don't adjust that screw. The ring ahead of the eye piece (and behind the magnification markings) should rotate and loosen up allowing you to rotate the eye piece without rotating the magnification. Rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise to fit your diopter needs and then retighten it. If that doesn't work, call Nightforce and speak with them. They are great to deal with.

That ring behind the power ring is like a jam nut for the diopter adjustment. And it is TIGHT from the factory. Just put some manballs to it and it will loosen up.

Thanks guys- that did it... The sucker was just EXTRA TIGHT from the factory. Now much better since I've got it focused properly.
