Gunsmithing Stupid question re: 260 freebore

Thinking of getting a new prefit 260 barrel with .118 freebore.

Can anybody tell me if a 140 A-Max just touching the lands with this much freebore would fit in a standard AICS 308 magazine?

I don't believe that it does without pulling the front plate out. However, that being said, my Amax load in the 6.5CM shoots right about 1/4MOA and the bullet is jumping more than 1/4" to the lands currently. I haven't changed the seating depth in the last 2,790 rounds.

My experience with the last 10k 140 Amax that I've fired has been that they really don't like touching the lands and they're happy to jump.

I can tell you that it won't.
That is a lot of freebore for a 260 to shoot vld's from a magazine.
Pull out the spacer plates from the mags, weld up the holes and you will get close.
