Suggest Kestrel belt case

The Kestrel brand "tactical case" is a little bulky.

As an alternative the thinner Blue Force Gear pouch works, however little to no impact protection.

I have a belt that has Safariland ELS systems to easily add / subtract and position gear (LRF, water bottle pouch, drop bag, Leatherman etc) along the belt as needed.

Esstac.com makes one of the best Kestrel pouches IMO. It is a slim but stout pouch with both velcro and nylon clip to contain the device. It isn't on his website but I'm sure if you email, he can make you one. I bought 2 way back when and still find them better than anything out there.
