Flori-duh.
I'm going to have to replace the barrel on my 223 trainer. Does anyone have any data on the ideal freebore for the 80 ELD-M in a standard (non-Ackley) 223 Remington? This will be on a bolt gun fed from MDT magazines, so OAL isn't a huge concern.

I almost went with a wylde chamber but after more research it is pretty loose. The freebore is close, but if you are going to build a bolt gun why use a reamer designed for a semi auto? I know it will work, and probably quite well, but I think your leaving a little on the table. Especially in a round that needs all it can get

What are you leaving on the table? I've tested God knows how many 223 bolt gun barrels/chamber from short to long and in between. With 75 or 80 eld your gonna be mag limited going much longer than 223 wylde without any real world gains.

I'm slinging 75 ELD at 3030 and 80 Amax at 2910. Your gonna trash brass going anymore than this...you arent losing a damn thing going with a 223 Wylde chamber
