Took the doctor about 5 hours to get everything squared away, but he was able to put my kids leg back together with out any external equipment! One plate down the outside of the femur with eight screws holding everything together. He will be able to start putting weight on it on Sun. with the help of a walker. Thanks for all the prayers, thoughts, good vibes, karma, or whatever your personal belief system allows for. Miracles do happen. When the bandages come off I'll post before and after pics. He'll be up and going before youth weekend and something is going to go down.

That is awesome progress, and we are glad to hear it. Simply having faith that all will be well, and everything will work out, and that whatever needs to happen, will happen.

That's fantastic! We'll keep the good thoughts going for the recovery period as well. It sounds like given the circumstances, it couldn't have turned out much better than it did. Well wishes for the tough little man.

He's doing really well post surgery. Not too much pain and no fever. Foley is giving him fits though, can't blame him for that. Thanks a bunch for all the well wishers. I'll put some pics up of him walking when we get home tommorrow.

Good to hear. Do they take out all the equipment after some time? Just wondering since he is young and the bones would still be growing. Would hate to think he would have one leg shorter than the other.

Yep they are going to take the stuff out around Christmas. Said that the surgery would be really easy, in and out. Always easier to remove the stuff I was told. So he'll be back to his old self before new years.

At home, watching Phineus and Ferb. Has not asked for pain meds since 9 this morning. Spent about an hour shooting nerf guns with the neigbors kids. It amazes me how fast kids bounce back from stuff like this. I wouldn't be worth killing two days after having my thigh screwed back together.

OK I know I'm trying to force feed him. Lost some weight he really didn't need to lose, but hey, he's walking. The rest we can fix.

Dodge I know how you feel watching you kid suffer and go through shit like this (son had 3 surgeries to save a fubar kidney when he was 3 months old) but know he will bounce back and be a normal kid climbing trees and scaring the shit outta ya.
Those little guys are tougher than we are!!! Best news I have heard all day.

Dang, those little kids are indestructible. That is great to hear and see your boy up and walking so soon, hopefully he continues to recover quickly and has a full and complication free recovery.

Went to see the doctor this morning. Doc says he's recovering great. He also said that he can go back to school next week for as long as he can tolerate it. Thanks for the prayers guys, he's doing great.
