This set up is for running the socom 2 with a can. Ive got em both installed. But having some issues cycling and getting the gas plug dialed in. Still a bit of gas blowback in my face. any tips on finding the sweet spot on this.

I have two of the plugs installed in my M1A's. With each, without the suppressor attached, I started to fire standard LC loaded ball ammo. As delivered the plugs are wide open, so the action doesn't cycle upon firing. I began to screw in the plug 1/2 turn at a time, firing one shot and checking for cycling. When each rifle began to cycle reliably, I stopped adjusting the plugs. I then fired loads that simulate LC Match ammo, 168gr SMK with IMR 4895 at around 2660 fps. Rifles both cycle reliably and when the suppressors are attached they still function with no noticeable gas blowback.

This was with a standard M1A and a Super Match M1A, both SA manufacture. So, your SOCOM having a shorter barrel will behave differently.

As an alternate source of info, you might want to post on the M14 Forum.

Ok after a month of messing with the schuster it was blowing back pretty bad or not cycling. i put the stock plug back in and the rifle fires fine and not near the blowback issues i was having i read in other places the 16 inch may have problems with the schuster. Is there any problems that could arise from using the stock plug with a can. excessive carbon build up or any other wear. Does it need a adjustible plug. Sorry im a bolt gun guy dont know every thing about these. I know they are tough and shoot great though
