So I got my AAC 762SD and have been shooting it a lot trying to get consistent POI changes. Probably 250rds or so have went through it. The mount has carbon building up something fierce all over it and the can itself has quite a bit as well.

How do I clean the mount?!? I tried just CLP to no avail then went to Montana X-Treme and it took some off but there is still A LOT on it. Do I worry about it? I don't want to leave any of the Montana stuff on the crown or in the bore and ruin it.

Also the can itself what is the best way to clean it?

Please point me in the right direction.

Re: Suppressor and mount cleaning question

I've never worried about cleaning centerfire cans ,the carbon might build up a little but I don't see it buildig to to the point that its would affect the suppressor.

I have a buddy that soakes his in Kroil then runs in an ultrasonic cleaner. puts his mind at ease i guess

if all else and you want the inside of your can shiney call AAC and see what they recomend

Re: Suppressor and mount cleaning question

I bet they say something like "you don't clean the muffler on your car" I did take my Shark apart and used a Ultrasonic machine to clean everything, that worked great but I think it's unnessary
