So I'm a noobie...I'm looking at the PTR Vent 1 762 suppressor. It comes as a direct thread to the barrel. I called PTR and they said I could use a muzzle break setup as long as it doesn't protrude into the suppressor more then 1.5 inches. So I'm looking for advice on which muzzle break to use. Also. I wanna switch the suppressor from my pof 556 to my pof 308. They both have different threading. How/ can I do this? Please help lol
Thanks
Ed

Plan B is another taper mount system that is pretty popular. Although I use the YHM SRX taper mount system, if I had it to do over again, I'd likely start with a Rearden Atlas/Atlas XL mounting interface for the suppressor and Plan B muzzle devices from a manufacturer of your choosing.

It is likely that you will need a muzzle device threaded 1/2x28 for the 5.56 and one threaded 5/8x24 for the .30 cal. Once you have the adapter for the suppressor, it will thread onto both muzzle devices.

With a shorter brake (like a single port or other compact design), you'll likely be fine with the Atlas adapter. For longer brakes, you may need to go with the Atlas XL for the clearance you need.

You will get opinions on which mounts (suppressor and barrel) is the best, and every one will have their reasons. My reason is, it was what I started with. My first suppressor was a DA Nomad and I started with the DA Xeno interface (or whatever you want to call it).

Once you start buying suppressors and then the QC mounts, the $$ starts stacking up so do your homework. Xeno was pretty much brand new when I started. That said, I would still go Xeno as it is getting more support for other manufacturers now.

I am just throwing up my path, and other's suggestions are just as valid as mine.

Buy your chosen suppressor mount, and then buy their 1/2/×28 and 5/8×24 barrel mounts and you can swap the suppressor between rifles as long as the suppressor has a big enough hole in it. Possibly to confuse you further, do not use crush washers when you time your barrel mount!

I have the suppressor and love it, but just direct thread it to both 1/2x28 and 5/8x24 with hub adapters. It comes with the 5/8x24. Unsure about your actual question, but also interested which ones fit.
