Ok guys so I had a load worked up for my rifle with the can. Trying to go back to a brake for competition and need some help as to ideas on what’s happening/how to go about remedying it.

Quick and dirty
Tl3 with bartlien 5r 7.5T 26”
Load 41.1gr h4350
With the can 5 shots touching
With the brake double stack 2 then a tenth or two off double stacks two more and last one somewhere lol aka double zero type deal.
Speed,sd, and my es have all stayed the same. Sd is 7.3 and es is 20 or under. Speed is 2760

I played with seating depth and loaded up 6 that were 5thou deeper and 6 that were 5 thou longer. Shot 6 of my control(normal load) followed by the two seating changed groups and finished with 6 more control rounds for a cold vs hot barrel comparison. Nothing yielded any viable results?

I don’t think it’s a charge weight issue because my speed did t change at all and my sd,es are good hence the seating test with no luck...thoughts? Is the only remedy to shoot another ladder at 600?(not readily available at the moment)

Oh yeah and for the kicker I have a competition this weekend out of state as well as a season finale next weekend lol

First 6 control

Going through same with my 6.5g.
Started with bird cage, shot some 3/4 to .60 groups.
Installed can adapter and can 1.75 to 2+.
Can adapter only 7/8 to 1.25.

Its barrel harmonics you will have to adjust powder in my opinion.
I would put everything back to best load and play with powder charge.

That way you can swap between can or not loads with just a change of the powder weight.

I am working on that today with loads for adapter on first to see if I can reproduce .6 groups.

Imho

I'd go back and dev a load for the brake, see what happens. Unless of coarse noise-concussion from the brake itself is the issue. I have friends that do not do well with brakes.
Like snuby said, it is most likely the weight change between the 2.

I also dont like mb much.
I had a 223 ar barrel that would hold 1 moa to 3/4 with the can on. It shot double that without.

Weight and possibly lenght of weight on the end were at play I think.
That particular barrel hated the mb.

I'm thinking of loading a 223 round and changing 7 or 8 different muzzle devices I have laying around untill one of them hits a node for the new barrel.

LOL

I'd really like to try a tuner on a Dasher, just for diff conditions. I'm scared of getting laughed off the range by friends.

I’ll probably just run the can for the two comps I have coming up then work up a load for the brake. It’s definitely louder but so much better for recoil management
