What? Wait...... So you are saying that you can register a bump-stock as a machine gun? I did not see that in their notice. I thought manufacturer on new “machine-guns” for private citizens was banned as of 1986? If bump-stocks are now post 1986 machine-guns how can they be registered?
Can't wait to see where this political football lands. I've never understood the rationale of revising regulation of an item because a tiny portion of the population's misuse. Looking forward to the imminent arguments with friends and coworkers about the logic of banning cans, which I see as hearing protection ... all because OMG, don't hitmen use those?

I still don’t think a suppressor was used. If it was, there would have been photos of this thing all over every news outlet in the world.
Think about this. The shooter is dead. So there won’t be a trial.
With no trial there will be no evidence presented. If there was a suppressor there would be no need to exhibit it cause there’s no trial.
The police department doesn’t have to say or show anything more cause there’s no trial.
It’s going to take a pro-gun organization or news outlet to demand to see ALL of the devices used in the shooting before this is put to rest.

They may not know. It could be some fake can and it was bagged as evidence and they are working to process and analyze. It may just look like a suppressor. Please, please, please, don't assume the average LEO knows anything about Suppressors.

There has been more than enough time to run a check on gun and nfa item.

Gun owners are not doing enough outreach. It's not just anti’s out there but other gun owners who do not have a clue about suppressors, save what they see in the movies. Also a lot of non-gun owners being told by this former LEO lie after lie.

I don't disagree with everything you said. I will add a few words about Trump.
It's true that he may not be trusted with the 2nd Amendment but we sure know what the alternative would get us.
Even though Trump is an outsider from the DC swamp, he is still a politician. He's not a gun guy in the sense that he knows everything about them.
After the Las Vegas shooting he probably felt he needed to do something. Now I don't agree with his feelings but stay with me on this.
The people that let us down on the bump stock issue was the NRA. As soon as the shooting was over with, the NRA basically gave the green light to Trump to treat the bump stocks like an NFA item.
When that happened, Trump was partially correct in thinking that the majority of gun owners could care less about bump stocks. The sad fact is there are too many gun owners that have the attitude of, "it doesn't affect me so why should I care."
As owners of suppressors, we are a political minority. Heck there are some gun owners who have looked me in the eye and said that there should be a complete ban on suppressors. Which causes me to question even their intelligence to be trusted with a gun.
So back to Trump. He's probably taking his cue from the NRA. Those ass-wipes have stabbed us in the back. I'm a life member but not going to resign my membership. On the other hand, I've told them to pound sand when they ask me for more money.
Unless we can convince Trump by the collective voice of other organizations (GOA, FPS, 2A Foundation, etc...) or our individual calls to the White House we can expect the NRA to roll over like a whore on Saturday night and tell him it's okay to stab us in the back.
On the other hand, we know exactly what the other side will do.

This is where you’re just peddling fear. What was the gun control that the Obama administration passed on the federal level? Democrats had a super majority his first 2 years in office and they passed Obama Care. They didn’t do anything with guns. Trump is in office with both chambers of Congress and we have a reclassification of bump stocks and no movement at all on guns. Where is the HPA and CCW reciprocity? At least with the Obama we knew he couldn’t do anything because the right had congress. Trump just oversteps his authority and shits on the 2A community.
