X300V_1911_DG_wA.jpg

The X300V is a compact WeaponLight for pistols and long guns featuring a high-output white-light and infrared LED in one sealed unit. In white-light mode, its recoil-proof LED generates a versatile 150-lumen tactical beam with plenty of reach, enough surround light to accommodate peripheral vision, and enough output to temporarily overwhelm the dark-adapted vision of an aggressor. In infrared mode, the 120-milliwatt LED produces a beam that’s non-visible to the naked eye, for use on stealth operations involving night vision devices—no filter required. Switching between the two modes is achieved via a, self-locking selector ring. X300V can be securely attached to either a pistol or long gun via its Rail-Lock® system, which accommodates both Universal and MIL-STD 1913. Ambidextrous push/toggle switching on the rear of the light provides one-finger control for momentary- or constant-on operation; optional DG grip switches (for pistols) and a pressure-pad tape switch (for long guns) permit activation of the light without altering your grip on the weapon. Constructed of aerospace aluminum, hard anodized with a Mil-Spec finish, and O-ring and gasket sealed to keep out the elements, the X300V thrives in combat-like conditions—on both handguns and long guns.
FITS: Handguns and long guns with Picatinny or Universal rails. Adapter mounts available for several non-railed handguns.

I'm waiting for the x400-IR also. I wish they had a working unit at shot so I could compare it to the DBAL-PL. I'm really interested in seeing a comparison.

I have found the X300V to fit in all of my Safariland holsters for a X200/X300. I have tried it in holsters for HKUSP45 fullsize, M&P 9L, M&P 45 midsize, Beretta 92, Glock 19, Glock 22, Glock 34, Glock 21 and it fit in all of those.

X400V-IR is my next setup.

I'm not certain based on the 2 year lag time that surefire is able to bring the X400V-IR to market though.

A lot of companies have made some promises they didn't have the engineers or machine time to keep.

Good points. Surefire did come to our main HQ a few months ago and showed me the X400V-IR along with other goodies. They admitted (I asked) about the long lead times. I kinda knew the answer but they have a huge T&E program and every little issue that may come up from T&E Mil users, to LE and even little ol' us testing their gear get taken into account. Many re-designs occur over and over again until it's perfect. I've been waiting patiently now for the new M1s to release for almost 2 years now and also handled the final (maybe) 2 units a few months ago. More power, variable brightness, great stuff.

yeah - I shouldn't post when I'm in massive amounts of pain and bitchy. LOL.

If they are taking the time to get it right thats something different. I would suspect it was the micro sized vampire head that was giving them issues, hence the long lead times on almost every product that featured that head. Wonder what changes they will make to the X400 body for the X400V-IR.

Nah, no bitching noted. :D
