Guys I have a set of Swarovski 8X56 SLC binoculars. That I really like. I also have a pair of Zeiss compact 8X30's that I use in the woods when I want a lighter binocular. I do a good bit of ground hog hunting, and that is when I mostly use the SLC's. I just sold a Nikon LRF and was getting ready to order a new Leica 900 LRF.
I have been thinking about selling my SLC's and buying one of the Leica binoculars with the LRF. However I do not have much experience with Leica binoculars. First let me say that I am very pleased with my SLC's. So I do not want to lower my standards.
Are the Leica binoculars with the LRF comparable in quality(optically) to my SLC's?? If so, which ones?? I would not mind going up to 10X on my binoculars, but I prefer not to go over 10X. 8X works just fine in the SLC's, but I think I can manage 10X binoculars.
Should I sell my SLC's and buy a pair of Leica's with a built in LRF?? Or should I just buy a separate Leica LRF??
Economics does not enter into this decision. I can afford a little extra money if I need to spend it to get good premium binoculars. Also the weight and size does not enter into the equation. I am a handicapped hunter who hunts on his Kawasaki Mule so I do not have to carry the binoculars. Thanks, Tom.
