I thought I'd share a couple of ideas that we've been working on. We're still in the developmental stages of these but I think they're going to be pretty handy additions.

It seems like at every match I hear someone asking about a scope cap wrench. Some people have them in their stock pack, but some people don't have a stock pack to put small tools in. I was talking to a friend on Monday and he asked about making a small pouch to hold an Allen wrench in and attaching it to the sling. I told him I'd see what I could come up with. We're working on a super small pouch that you can slip onto your rifle sling. The picture shows only one wrench but the final version will have room for two. I envision the pouch being placed in the center section of a TAB GEAR sling, in between the webbing strips. This will keep the pouch out of the way yet easily accessible at all time. The elastic will be sized to fit the 1 1/2" webbing that we use on our slings.

The other item was also recommended to me by someone I don't think I've ever met, but who contacted me with an idea he had that I think is just great. I've seen lots of guys with their dope stuck to the side of their stock, you've got to break your cheek weld to look at dope. I've seen guys have a card dummy corded to the side of the scope, you've got a card dangling in the wind and you still have to grab the card and turn it to see the dope. I'm working on a dope card that will attach to the inside of the sling up against the front swivel that will allow you to see your dope without breaking your cheek weld, just by glancing at the card. The dope holder is slim and flexible enough that when you sling up the pouch is not noticeable at all when it's folded across your hand.

If anyone has any input or ideas that will make these items better I'd love to hear them.

Also, these are in the developmental stages and not ready to be put on the market just yet.

Re: TAB GEAR products in the works.

those are some great ideas. when this is finished can we send our slings back and get them updated? and also what do you think these features would cost roughly

Re: TAB GEAR products in the works.

Thanks Danel, give me a shout.

Knabstrupper, these items will be constructed so that you can simply buy them and install them on your sling. You won't have to send your sling in.

I anticipate the price range being in the $12 to $15 area.

Re: TAB GEAR products in the works.

Two excellent idea's!

When I order the biathlon sling before deer season this year, both of these idea's will be incorporated.

Good stuff as always Tony.

Thanks,

-Pat

Re: TAB GEAR products in the works.

I've got an idea for you as well...need to iron out a few details. It would probably be easier for you to do than me with my old singer sewing machine LOL. It may be a useless idea, but I'd use it.

Re: TAB GEAR products in the works.

I'd just like to say thats its refreshing to see a manufacturer asking for and listening to suggestions from their customer base. The only piece of TAB gear i own is the elite sling. Ill admit there was a period of sticker shock, but once you recieve and use the sling that shock quickly disipates. Sufice is to say, that sling will NOT be the last piece of gear i buy from them.

Re: TAB GEAR products in the works.

There will be no card provided, there are too many variables, just like have already been mentioned. One guy may want dope every 100 yards, the next guy every 50, someone else dope and wind, etc. etc.

It'll be easy enough for a guy to print out any layout he wants in Word on some rite in the rain paper, or use a Sharpie on a thin piece of plastic.

Re: TAB GEAR products in the works.

I like both ideas. Just suggest having room in wrench pouch for as many as will reasonably fit. With all the attachments, scope, turrets, weapon lights, bipod, etc...there can be so many wrench sizes needed.

Re: TAB GEAR products in the works.

for more than two wrenches, how about a double ended pouch with two flaps. the right angle portions of the wrench take up the most room so a double ended pouch could hold four wrenches in the same space that a single ended one could only hold two.

Re: TAB GEAR products in the works.

Tony,
on the dope sheet protector, I would suggest that you keep the total size within the width of the sling. That would prevent the edge of the plastic outside the seam from catching and ripping the plastic or pulling the stitching.

Great ideas.
Respectfully,
Jack

Re: TAB GEAR products in the works.

I'm waiting on some supplies to arrive to finish out the dope card.

I like your idea of the double ended pouch p620346, I made a prototype yesterday and I think that'll work out perfectly, thank you for your input.

That is my intention Jack, for all the reasons you express, thanks for confirming my thoughts.

Lisa will castrate me if I say these are for sale without her having an inventory of them first. I'll let everyone know when we have things ready to go.

Certainly not the right place to post but where can I get the black cover you have on your stock?
Thanks

Re: TAB GEAR products in the works.

This project is moving along nicely, I should have some final information any day now. I won't make them available until I get some inventory built up, which won't take long now.

Re: TAB GEAR products in the works.

I received your compact litter and have passed it around at my dept. Everybody thinks it is perfect. The construction is first class. Thanks for the fast service.
