Im trying to decide which SAS cover to order for my YHM 338 Phantom. Whats holding me up is how the QD brake has the large shoulder. Is the SAS1 the only way to go with a setup like this, and you have to un-velcro it each time to get it on and off?

Or will the SAS-2 stretch easily enough to slip it over the brake and slide it onto the barrel while you tighten the can on?

Re: TAB SAS recommendation for Phantom 338

The SAS-2 should work the same on the .338 as the .30's do. I just slide it up the can while you screw it on to the ACME threads. I have to do this on my .30 cal ones as well because it cups over the end to much. You may want to contact them and see what other customers have spec'd for there sizes.

Id call this inconclusive so far haha. Aaron, the problem with the SAS3 is I dont think I will be able to get it over the QD brake to put it on.

Im liking the SAS2 to keep it from sliding off on the 338. Will see if I get some more input, I have a few more days to decide.

The QD mount is smaller in diameter then the suppressor's tube. It will slide on and off just fine.

Re: TAB SAS recommendation for Phantom 338

I had settled on the SAS2 until I talked with Lisa @ Rifles only and she talked me out of it. Said it is a major pain in the ass to remove and install, its more of a "permanent" cover than anything else.

So she talked me into the SAS3, and I wanted to try something different anyway so well see how it turns out. I ordered it for the length of the can with the brake flange included, since its only 1/8" smaller OD I have to assume the cover will not go over it either.

Well the SAS2 made it in today and Fit and Finish was awesome it was a P.I.T.A. to put on very snug fit looks great and prolly won't ever come off the can.

Wow, I really like your setup. Who did the Multicam? was it a did or a hand done spray?

I dont know why his was a "pita" but mine slides back easly for cooling. The only place its tight is the ring in the back so it doesent slide forward so you dont shoot the thing.
