Tactical Works Inc. Bolt Handle "Feedback "

Re: Tactical Works Inc. Bolt Handle "Feedback "

ok man if thats the one i think it is, its junk. well mine was. i sent it back the next day. it is, but i see they have added a round back version and that wasnt the one i had. so i would be willing to try that one. the last one was a flat back and it is for the receivers with a flat top and it sucked balls on my 10fcp. be aware they have a restocking fee. then there is shipping. i think stockade or someone was selling that same bolt handle unpolished. they didnt hit me with the fee, so i didnt bitch too much but it cost me $8 to get them to mail it to me the first time and only $3 to get it back to them. keep it in mind.

now here is what was wrong. when the bolt was rotated the handle scraped against the receiver and after possibly 5-10 cycles and it was missing paint and the feel was clunky as different parts came into contact with the receiver. it came out after that. they took it back scratches and all. look around man, there are a few premade out there. google "savage bolt handle"

Re: Tactical Works Inc. Bolt Handle "Feedback "

I have one. It was not a bolt on replacement. The extracting cam angle did not match that of the factory floating cam ring. I had to carefully modify the ramp to match the factory pary to make the bolt cycle smoothly. Once I did get it set up though it worked well for me.

Re: Tactical Works Inc. Bolt Handle "Feedback "

you say cam ring, they say baffle, baffle hey! baffle hey! but i had that issue too. plus it just hit the receiver so much it scraped all the black off so the finish wasnt all that durable either.

i just wanted to make sure it was the same thing we were talking about. how hard is it to mold that directly off a savage rifle??

Re: Tactical Works Inc. Bolt Handle "Feedback "

if you found the new style where they would take it back with no restocking fee or not ship it for $8 i would try the new look, but id still pitch a bitch if i had to rework the angles

Re: Tactical Works Inc. Bolt Handle "Feedback "

I don't know if it is what you are looking for, but Sharp Shooters Supply has some nice looking bolt handles. Might want to check them out.

Yes. The rear baffle. I was just at a loss for the correct terminology. I totally agree with you as to how they could have made the handle to match up to the baffle so poorly. I never had a problem with mine hitting the receiver, though - at least not once I modified it. Straight out of the box it simply did not work. I thought at first That it was an SSS bolt handle but I guess not?

Re: Tactical Works Inc. Bolt Handle "Feedback "

If it is an SSS bolt handle then that's kind of an embarrassment for sharpshooter supply. There's no reason why it should not have been a direct bolt on. Mine is the one designed for the round action, too. Which is interesting because I had one on order from SSS directly but the lady there had told me they were new and wouldn't be in production for a few weeks - interesting That tactical works got them and I never got mine??? Makes me wonder if I will ever get the stock I ordered and paid for back in June, as well as the magazines I've been waiting for for the past 4 months, also on order...

Re: Tactical Works Inc. Bolt Handle "Feedback "

I have an 8 ball style shifter in my car... I am going to thread one and stick it on lol.

I do like that design btw. Maybe scale mine down a little : P

Re: Tactical Works Inc. Bolt Handle "Feedback "

mitch, post a picture. not sure what your talking about. the on i had was for a flat top receiver and i should have known. there are now round top versions. unless they will ship postal, not $8 for a ups shipment, AND they will agree before hand to take it back without the $8 or $10 re-stocking fee, i would try one of the newer round top versions.

i just dont expect to have to modify a product thats already been finished. if they had tested it for fit BEFORE they cast it for final production, none of us would have issues.

Re: Tactical Works Inc. Bolt Handle "Feedback "

looks alot better than the other flat back version. its half of having the stock one done by someone. but still, from there, the $8 for shipping plus the $8 or $10 for "restocking" makes it risky to try from that vendor. i did get them to waive it for me, but it took a little bitching. there is just no reason that cant go postal for $5 or less. it was $3 to ship back with tracking
