Looking to build another 6mm rifle for PRS. Going to buy a new scope for it.

I have always used S&B (3 of them) and have loved all of them. I really like the Gen II XR (which is offered by Target Theta) so reticle choice isn’t a problem. The other scope I really like and finally got to use was the Kahles 624i with the SKMR3 reticle. Love the reticle, especially for Wind holds.

What am I getting, besides a tooless zero, that I am not getting in a Kahles or S&B?

Better optics (although differences are small with high end designs like these) and best turrets in the business.

In terms of optics, Kahles has a touch wider FOV, but in terms of contrast, TT is better.

S&B is close to TT optically at high magnification (assuming that we are talking about the 5-25x), but TT is better once you get below 14x or so.

Also, TT does not tunnel at low magnification (nor does Kahles).

Honestly, a lot of this is splitting hairs. I've spent a fair amount of time with multiple copies of all three scopes. TT works best for me of three, but all are good designs.

Koshkin, would you know offhand the minimum focus distance on the TT525P versus the S&B PMII? Thanks!

Ilya, in my opinion given the price point of the TT it is not really fair to compare it to the legacy S&B 5-25. In my opinion it should be compared to the 3-27 which does not tunnel.

That's a fair point.

I assumed he is taking about a 5-25x S&B.

Aside from tunneling, my original point is still valid even if we are talking about the 3-27x S&B.

Turrets and tooless zero. If I didn't have an AXMC I wouldn't have one.

Guy next to me had a kahles and turrets weren't great, not Mark 8 bad but makes me appreciate my TT.

ive owned a minox...FANTASTIC glass!
ive looked through and shot a S&B also FANTASTIC glass!
i dont own a S&B because i dont care for the reticles...while i loved the minox glass i sold it because the eye box is tight and the parallax was very touchy.
i bought a kahles and love everything about this scope but i am on the list for one of the ZCOs.

i have never looked through a TT but i just can not bring myself to pay that much for a scope that IMHO only has a few minor things over the kahles or S&B...im still not sure if i will buy a ZCO i like the kahles that much...i guess ill see when CST calls with the ZCO in stock.

Following a few threads about TT and keep hearing about new reticles this year. Can someone remind us what they are and when the expected release is? I thought TT had a Gen 2 XR now, what is the difference in the new one?

Nobody knows what the reticles are. Nobody knows when they are expected. And the Gen 2 XR has ALWAYS been available since day one.
