My gunsmith has some ammo from the late 60's called Talon, and it's 30-06 "match" ammo. It's in LC brass, and it comes in a white box with a "WF" in the lot number. He says the WF stands for White Feather or Carlos Hathcock, and he thinks it is worth a little money, but mostly he just thinks it's neat. He has quite a few boxes that are still unopened with all the ammo. He gave me one of the rounds just for the heck of it, and it has LC 67 MATCH on the head stamp. I know this is Lake City brass made in 1967, but does anyone know anything about these rounds, and if they're worth anything. I think he would like to know, but he likes them for novelty more than anything.

Thanks,
Troy

Re: Talon White Feather 30-06

Talon re manufactured some surplus brass a few years ago in several calibers. The White Feather was made in 7.62 and no other calibers AFIK. I was on the test crew at Stone Bay for the original White Feather with several different bullets. The 175gr SMK was the best. So I think the WF does not stand for White Feather. Not 100% sure as I have not seen a pic of the box or brass. Mike
