Have been looking for some target hit indicator lights. Have looked at things like the Lightreact and the T1000 by MagnetoSpeed. Haven't used any of them and would like some insight for those whom have. Looking to use probably 1500 yards and in. I am not sold on either of these, if there is a product you like better please share!

Thanks

have used T1000 on three occasions up to 1300 yards (1200 meters). Do the job well. Easy to spot hits, even without the scope or binoculars (if I remember correct, not sure though). My fellow, more experienced, shooters seem to be happy with them.

I have shot several matches that used the T1000. Easy to spot and they take a lot of abuse. One got hit at a local club match when the wind was 20-40mph. It is still working.

I don't own any, but I've shot a number of matches where the MD used the T1000s. There have been a few failures, but when you've got well over 100 people taking multiple shots at each one, it is bound to happen.

I own a set of the Light Reacts. Solid units that work as advertised. Super bright! I like that multiple remotes on several targets can be rigged to trigger one light.

Have only used the Magnetospeed version , fine out to 2700 so far . Only caveat : one target location had a
large rock as a backstop , about 6 feet behind target . There is an orange light ‘ near miss ‘ function which was
triggered by even very wide misses impacting the rock . Not really a problem at all tho , just something to
consider when setting target locations . All the units we have used have survived everything we can toss at
them , up to 375 cal with solids .

I just picked up a T1000 and its a nice unit. The LED's are very bright and it works as advertised. I hadn't heard of the LightReact until this thread. Any idea why it costs twice as much as the T1000, I don't know know anything about them? It looks like there is some sort of transmitter with that system.

The T1000 is good to go and easy to use. My friends and I were spotting hits to 1400 yards without optics, and even easier to see through the glass. I just turned off the miss setting and changed it to impact only. The velcro holds well, so well that its a pain in the ass to take the thing off the target.

I believe the LightReacts were out before the T1000, and once those became available at a lot less money, LR pretty much faded. I don't even know if they're still around?
The transmitter mounts to the back of the Target and over short range WiFi or Bluetooth, send signal to the light, which you can mount anywhere within range of the transmitter.

I've played around with the Light React and Magnetospeed a good bit, and both systems work well. The T1000 is a lot more cost effecient and simpler to set up. The biggest advice I can give there is to do a thorough job of cleaning the back of the target before putting on the velcro. Scrub the steel with a wire wheel or a grinder to get all the paint and rust off, wipe it down with an alcohol wipe, let it dry, THEN apply velcro. Other than that, as long as you ensure the entire body is well behind the edge of the steel, and the clear gel is installed correctly, they work great and take a lot of abuse.

The LRs also work well, but they take a little more effort to set up due to the sensors and light being different units. You still need to prep the steel correctly before mounting the sensors. For matches or group shoots, the occasional idiot will think the flashing light is a bonus target. The good news on the Light React is the light is SUPER bright, and you can tie multiple sensors to one indicator, which is great for KYL type arrays. The brighter light is great for distance, and is visible with the naked eye from much longer distances than the T1000, but both are easily visible at long range even with binos.

LR is still inb usiness as far as I know, they've just lost prominence with the PRS (not sure on NRL) due to costs. When you can buy a 6-pack of T1ks for around the price of one LR set, that becomes a losing proposition for most MDs.
