Any specs you can share on the Fly 45? Diameter, caliber rating, etc...?

Although this wasn't my intended use for the FLY, it also sounds good with subsonic 300 BLK. I'd want earpro for extended shooting sessions in the "short" config, but it'd be fine for hunting.

In case anyone is wondering, that's a Plan B Omega 9K mount with a Rearden single-port brake.

And yes, my van is dirty.
    Gun details ?

Nothing special - one of the ACC-marked Rem 7 actions, KAK 10.5" barrel, MDT LSS chassis with one of their folding adapters and a Magpul fixed carbine stock. Obviously it's on a Form 1.

Was goofing around with the Fly 9 the other day on a .300 blk shooting 190gr Sub-X. 10.5" BRN-180 SBR. In short configuration it was just a touch poppier than the ultra 5 (good and carboned up, I just started CLRing it to get some performance back), but in the long configuration it was comparable to my Dominus. Very quiet with blk subs.

I’m curious, with the larger ID, if the full length supa’ fly will be a little quieter than the fly 9 at the shooters ear. Not sure if pistols respond anything like AR’s to increased back pressure.

Was looking for an ultra 5 for a .308, glad I waited. Gonna have to grab one of these.

We had a couple batches done but I think they are spoken for at this point. Otherwise our current backlog is ETA mid Feb.

As for the second comment, could you elaborate if you mean the 9 or 45 can, and which datapoints you're looking at?

Mid-Feb is fine, and the timing is good because I was already going to place an order for a few other cans to put into inventory.

I was looking at the G21 shooter's ear numbers with "full power" ammo - 6 dB louder in the Short config. Your Fly9 numbers show that the Short config of that can is actually 3 dB quieter in the Short config with standard 9x19 ammo. The same is true for your competitor's cans in both cases, so I assume the effect is some combination of cartridge and host.

Looking at the numbers I actually think the short holds up pretty well. The short 45 and long 9 are actually pretty close in size and weight. It’ll be interesting how they line up in those configurations for 300bo and 9 subs. Very excited about the hub, it will make a clean (lightweight) setup when rifle mounted.

Yeah, combining the big bore diameter for .45 ACP and the dynamics of that cartridge, it works out differently than 9mm

It holds up against the other class leaders / common high end 45 cans we metered in that table, and beats them in many A/B comparisons. But even the ones where we are a wash or 1-2 dB louder, we still beat them by a lot in the weight column.
