Texas newbie

Greetings all!

Been doing some 3 gun shooting lately and the match I go to has targets out to 600 yards. I know that’s not far to you guys but with that my $500 ar15 it is.... hahaha.

Anyways, this same location has a 2,00 yard range and one of the people I met let me shoot his precision rifle. It was awesome. The location hosts long range competitions as well so I have joined this forum to learn more.

Welcome to the forum Kycl. Lots of helpful folks on here, just stay respectful and avoid arguments. There is an invisible “Ignore” button right next to the “Reply” button, my advice is to use it well.

I have a buddy who shoots a custom AR15 at 600, and he hangs with the bolt guns. JP Enterprises components i believe, then optimized, and high BC bullets that look like sharp pencils. Not a cheap setup, but superb accuracy.

You are very lucky to have a 2,000 yard range sir. That alone is reason enough to build a 30 PRC or a 30 Norma Mag. Have fun!
