I just got a letter from ESS eye pro that said they had been hacked and my info my have been stolen. Here is the good part in the same letter they sent me a validation code for a one year credit monitoring service with a one million dollar insurance policy.

That my friends is going above and beyond and then some! I would like to say thank you to ESS for looking out for your customers and I will only use ESS for my eye pro in the future, you have made me a life long customer.

I got the same thing. This is definitely going above and beyond and I'm happy they are doing this and being so transparent about a *potential* issue.

Hell, my SS#, grades, loan info, salary was stolen from the university I went to and they didn't do anything but tell me to pound sand. F'ers!

+1 for ESS. My Crossbows are awesome. I need to order another pair...

Got the letter as well, good on them. Actually had my CC info stolen recently as some "probing" charges were made that alerted my bank and froze my card. Pretty sure it was from the hack at ESS as I used the same card and it is a card I rarely use.

Other than the inconvenience of getting a new card I am at no loss and the free year of credit monitoring is a really nice bonus. The ESS Crossbows I got are amazing as well (make the nose piece softer/wider though).

Same here. Within 48 hours. Bank caught it quickly.

Is there a contact number for ESS for this particular incident? I've moved since my last order and the forwarding has probably expired.

How long ago did this happen? I just ordered a set of CDI max from them 3 weeks ago. Wonder if I may be at risk.

If you didn't get the letter your not at risk. They re-vamped their system after the hack.
