Or at least, that's what this customer's kid thought.

Imagine her surprise when the computer still didn't turn on after she put in a nickel.

It all turned out OK. She got her coin back, but it cost them $75.

That's the place she slid the nickel into the "coin slot", not the actual nickel.

Is there a short across those contacts? I'd have loved to seen their faces when the smoke rolled out of their laptop...

The contacts were shorted and causing issues, but no smoke.
Once I got the nickel out and straightened the contacts back out, it was as good as new.
