I bought a Mavic Air a few weeks ago. I had an original Parrot that was just OK. This Mavic is insane. I've had it out to over a mile. It will go and hold 40mph. And takes some nice video. I'm still learning what it can do and how to best utilize it. I bought it for the pure pleasure of flying it with some ideas about filming with it.

    What's your drone experience?

    Tips and tricks?

    Video?

Theres a drone topic in the night vision section I started.
I dont really have any tips or tactics. Just a few things I've learned.
    a. Battery life, slow fly, easy turns, longer loiter, push it flying top end, hard turns, cut loiter by 1/4 or so.
    b. Bigger and heavier the drone, the more winds affect it, harder to hover, requires more operator attention.
    c. Expensive tool to lose when the Zenmuse thermal camera is attached.. ?

I got a DJI Phantom 4.... Beginning mode is for sissies, so switched it to sport mode (no interventions). 45 minutes later I flew it into a large hardwood tree at 41mph. Totally destroyed it....... smashed it to pieces. Ordered another one later that day. Expensive lesson. Still have the second one....

I've wrecked mine at least 4 different times including getting it caught in a tree about 20 feet up. That was fun. This thing is a tank. I also purchased the "insurance" policy they offer.

I fly everything from small drones, tiny whoops.....to larger 5&6" racing quads. And if those are not fast enough I have a few wings that will go well over 100mph. You can get some great footage as well as some great fun.

Tips......just go after it. Don't let something limit you to exploring your surroundings.
