Rifle Scopes The GEN2 XR Reticle

I went this route with S&B. Interestingly the Gen2XR has been fairly popular in PSR in past years. More reticle options with comparable glass quality from other companies have made them less popular recently.
I think if it were me I'd look to something lighter if hunting will be a primary use. Vortex AMG might be a good compromise. Little bit lighter and smaller, good reticle.

I love the precision that the fineness of the Gen 2 XR affords me, and I love the sparse Xmas tree reticle. Most of the utility of the Horus reticles without all of the clutter. I haven't found it to be too fine in the field, especially at 15x and up. But when I am hunting with this scope, it is generally for long range/high magnification applications where I am glassing from a stationary position. At lower magnifications the fineness of the reticle might be a problem depending on the terrain (and as mentioned above this scope and the rifle it sits on are very heavy). For bench shooting it is perfect in my opinion.

I just jumped into the Gen 2 XR reticle. I really like it. REALLY REALLY LIKE IT!!! Here is why;

1. It is thin, but not cluttered. It will allow me to very easily quarter 1" pasters at 100 yards. I can make fine holds at extended distances.
2. The uncluttered reticle allows you to spot impacts/misses very easily.
3. The hardest part for me to get through my head, is the dots are full mils, and the hashes are half mils.

I was used to using the EBR-1C and EBR-2C, also I had the luxury of the the EBR-7 (which I could not stand). I also tried the H2CMR, but the lack of any type of hold points made me go to the Gen 2 XR.

My Order of favorites is as follows:
1. Gen 2 XR
2. H2CMR (if this had hold points, it would be way out in front)
3. EBR-2C
4. EBR-1C
5
6
7
8
9
10. EBR-7
