Well first time I saw him, he was on heroin, mid 70s. so he was led out to center stage, placed in front of mike stand and didn't move from there. Words and music came out , but his eyes were closed whole time he was out front. LikeHow was Clapton?

a statue.I was young and didn't know any better. He went through rehab and I saw him few years latter. Much different show, was alive, moved around and interacted with band and fans. This was at Tarrant convention center so 15,000 folks there. I took binoculars in and watched his face from halfway up cheap seats and was good to see him alive.
Saw him again in Dalles after he lost his son in that fall. Tears in heaven song played and I think everyone in there was crying.
Eric was real good singer guitar player ever time I got to see him. Just different, sometimes was hard driving get to point, others set down with box guitar and make you cry. Saw him with BB king and Buddy Guy, Jimmie and Stevie Ray Vaughn at a blues concert and he was humble and propped up the old guys.
Acknowledge the younger guitar singers , made the show fun!
