How was Clapton?

Well first time I saw him, he was on heroin, mid 70s. so he was led out to center stage, placed in front of mike stand and didn't move from there. Words and music came out , but his eyes were closed whole time he was out front. Like
a statue.I was young and didn't know any better. He went through rehab and I saw him few years latter. Much different show, was alive, moved around and interacted with band and fans. This was at Tarrant convention center so 15,000 folks there. I took binoculars in and watched his face from halfway up cheap seats and was good to see him alive.
Saw him again in Dalles after he lost his son in that fall. Tears in heaven song played and I think everyone in there was crying.
Eric was real good singer guitar player ever time I got to see him. Just different, sometimes was hard driving get to point, others set down with box guitar and make you cry. Saw him with BB king and Buddy Guy, Jimmie and Stevie Ray Vaughn at a blues concert and he was humble and propped up the old guys.
Acknowledge the younger guitar singers , made the show fun!

Truth be told-

That wasn't the answer I was expecting but yeah... I think you might be "legit" on this one...

This is by no means an equal comparison as far as "star power" goes but here's my equivalent...

I went to a concert... probably 20 years or so ago to see "Smile Empty Soul"... if their name doesn't sound all that familiar it's ok. They had a major hit over 20 years ago titled "bottom of a bottle"...

Well hind sight being 20/20 maybe it wasn't all that surprising but the band was literally boo'd off stage because they were absolutely hammered and couldn't produce the lyrics to any of their songs. This occurred in Philadelphia too- so you can only imagine how "tolerant" the crowd was.

I've thought about that concert a few times over the years and I don't believe I was ever reimbursed for the tickets. Reckon they chalked it up as part of the "experience".

I saw Robert Plant and Jimmy Page in late '95 I think, I remember my son was still a baby. His 1st concert, that he doesn't remember was Pink Floyd in '94 while my wife was pregnant with him.

We saw Page & Plant in 1998 or so. I believe it was the year before we saw Roger Waters. During the Shine on You Crazy Diamond solo, the rest of the band set up a table and were playing poker on the stage.

My first concert was I think in 1995? It was Bush and Veruca Salt.

I think it was around 2000, a group of buddies got free Joe Walsh tickets when he was playing at the casino not far from us. Only a few hundred people at that show.

Saw Iron Maiden in Chicago, twice. First at the Rosemount, then at an outdoor venue. At the second show, Bruce Dickinson started preaching some shit about the need for a one world government in order to end all the wars. Lost interest after that.

Have seen Tool in DC, MSP and down in Dallas in one year. Still have a concert tee from 1998 or so. I think I’ve got close to ten of their shows under my belt.

Went to Ozzfest in 1999 I think it was. Rob Zombie and Primus were there.

Saw Pantera few times, one of which was with Slayer. I drank a whole lot of peppermint schnapps and puked all over the floor near the mosh pit. Not proud of that one.

Watched Megadeth play a casino/tattoo parlor/radio station or some shit like that in Sioux Falls before they shut it down. Small place, want to say 1,700 people but that seems like a lot.

The year I bought my first house, the small town was having their annual Water Carnival. Kids were only a year old so we didn’t go but we could hear the Guess Who playing while we sat on our front steps. Does that count?

Saw Def Leppard, Poison and Lita Ford. Twice.

Had too many beers with one of the drummers from Slaughter in DTW when you could still smoke in there. Nearly missed my flight.
