I have provided this short guide to common homonyms in the shooters' lexicon.

<ul style="list-style-type: disc">[*]To - A destination or object upon which an action is being completed.[*]Too - Also, In Addition to[*]Two - Second. One plus One.
<ul style="list-style-type: disc">[*]Break - To cause to no longer function. To remove part of. Also in the context of rifle barrels, to wear such that tooling marks are removed.[*]Brake - A mechanical apparatus which slows the rotation of an object (usually a wheel) in motion.
<ul style="list-style-type: disc">[*]Site - A place. Such as a location on the internet or a general reference to a firing position.[*]Sight - A set of guides (including potentially a telescopic assembly) which designates the intended point of fire.
<span style="font-weight: bold">Punctuation</span> will assist in the communication of your thoughts. Ending a single thought with a period (.) will help us reading your post to differentiate the closing of one expression and the beginning of the next bit of information to process. A comma (,) can help us differentiate portions of a list, or can form a "shifting of gears" within the same thought.

One other item of note is the additional space being provided between groups of related thoughts. These segments of related thought can be organized into a single cohesive object called a "<span style="font-weight: bold">paragraph</span>". By segmenting your thoughts into such a "paragraph," you help each of your readers in understanding your thoughts as well as providing the opportunity, if you desire, of taking the next set of related thoughts in a new direction.

Enjoy the forums, hopefully this was useful in some way.

Re: The Oddball-Six Guide to Remedying your Stupidity

The English language can be a tricky thing to master.

Take for example the confusion surrounding when to use the apostrophe in contractions and and possessives.

The rules are generally clear, but they can get blurred when both a contraction and a possessive are spelled the same way, except for the apostrophe.

The following is quoted from another forum member who is living under some fantasy that he knows everything there is to know about such matters.

Its a choice between buy ammo and more trigger time or reload and less trigger time for me.

At around $1.05 or so a round, its still reasonably economical compared to other commercial ammo. </div></div>

As you can see, our <span style="font-style: italic">expert</span> has actually misused the possessive "its" in sentences where the contraction "it's" should have been applied.

What have we learned here?
Let's review.

We have learned that even those who think they know everything have room for a little more knowledge.

We have learned that humility goes a long way when trying to help people to improve their communication skills.

We have learned that newbs sometimes fare much better by establishing themselves as a respected contributor before looking down their noses at those who were here before he laid hands on his first airsoft.

Most importantly, we have learned that no one is perfect, regardless of who's looking back at them in the mirror. That includes me.

I don't claim to be an expert. Never have, never will. And frankly, that was a typo, an omitted apostrophe not a misapprehension of the concept between the two types of its/it's.

I claim to be someone who wanted a post to link some of the most common frustrations in posts and wanted a thread to link to to address some of those common (and repetitive) aspects of forum posts.

We all do, anyone who says otherwise is an idiot. I am certainly not about to claim otherwise.

No one claimed otherwise. Now that you have gotten that out, I hope you feel better.

I nerfed the original post and kept the intent of the thread. Happy(ier)?

You've got it bad. Ease up.

I was happy to begin with. Otherwise, I wouldn't have wasted my time on your imperfections.
