Did anyone else watch this last night? The guy shoots two afghan kids then states they bounced off the road and found there way into the back of the truck. His muzzel is angled up when he fires. I know things happen but do they have to have the camera running? The entire video was messed up from the reporter to the content. Shooting event happens near the end of the video. The reporter is just dumb.

Reporter just has the same biases that most media has towards the war.

For all the training the Afghans had gone through they were pretty messed up still. I experienced a similarly SF-trained group of Iraqis and they were actually fairly impressive in their abilities.

I'm not sure he "ricochet" story is very convincing, especially since his rifle was parallel to the ground. shit happens though in combat and sometimes things go sideways, feel bad about it, but don't regret your decision or you'll second guess the next one. If I was there by myself with a local I would have unload to probably....

Thats what I noticed his rifle aimed up not down towards the ground plus two shots, two hits.
I wasn't there and nor do I judge the man for pulling the trigger, he did what he thought needed done at the time. I blame the media for being there causing his thinking to obviously not be 100% clear. Shit happens and at least these two didn't die. I just think the whole warning shot bull shit comment was what I was irritated at.

Well, shit happens, but suppressed warning shots are rarely effective unless they're placed very close to the target and I guarantee if you're staring down a truck like that your instinct will be to just place some rounds into the hood or somewhere else where it will be immediately clear what's happening.

Shit happens though. I've seen warning shots that were intended to just break glass end up breaking someone's face.
