The real pandemic that is being ignored in our country...

Working out is not a requirement for not being a fat ass. It is enough just to eat responsibly. Of course it is good to work out, but let's not treat being normal weight like it takes some hard core commitment to anything other than a little self control.

Well, for as long as they last (with the rapid decent to socialism/communism) when entering the grocery store immediately turn to the right or left. Stay along the outside wall until arriving back at the cashier. Only venture into the middle to get flour, sugar and other baking products. Your body will thank you.
As noted earlier. The future political direction may take care of the problem. There's very few fat people in Cuba, Venezuela, China or any other communist country.

The only soda I drink is the zero sugar, zero calorie stuff, or kombucha. I try to avoid added sugars and well sugar as much as I can. (outside alcohol, and carb conversions). My weakness is beer 😂..... and whiskey.

Studies have shown there is significant evidence that drinking "Zero Calorie" and "Zero Sugar" sodas that are made with artificial sweeteners can be more detrimental to your diet then drinking a small serving of a similar drink sweetened with cane sugar.
You'd be better of having a small glass of Mexican Coke, Sprite or Fanta or some other carbonated drink of your choice sweetened with only cane sugar.

Your body isn't some dumb thing, but rather a highly complex machine and when you try to trick it, things often don't go as planned.
"Alternate sweeteners" also tend to ruin your pallet and make you used to things being overly sweet, which is endemic to the western diet.

Try skipping the whole "alternate sweeteners" business and get your body back to needing just a small amount of natural full calorie sugars.

is people being overweight a problem? yup.

i’ll submit an even BIGGER (pun intended) problem than junk diet/fat. and that is tech. tech encourages, and in fact is engineered to suck people in, and keep them sucked in. their days are spent not being active, and cruising though whatever their chosen poison is. there is a documentary out there that shows it all. and it isnt a left verses right thing; it’s folks that actually helped create big tech into what it is explaining it.

i got sucked into it once upon a time. i fixed that. winter and the extreme cold here is the only real reason why i spend much time online these days. when i retire, the phone is going in a faraday cage and checked when i want to and used as needed.

my advice for folks is to shut off their electronics and open your eyes to your life in front of you. wean yourself from tech and actually enjoy life’s flavor again.
Is there an app for that?

My wife and I often comment about finding 'shit' in the center of the store when we have to go looking for something that we don't normally use. Stores hate us because we only buy the the fresh stuff. Our latest venture was to find 'puff pastry' dough. I'm amazed at the absolute poison in the middle of every store... even Whole Foods.
