So does that mean my 6217XXX was made in 1968?? Is there somewhere online where I can find out more about my rifle? I tried Remington's website, but I didnt find anything particular with the serial #s to tell me what exactly I have.

No, it means it was made sometime after 11-26-1968, probably in 69 or 70
