BUT if you mount it up in your Tasco deluxe rings (I actually call them tactical Tasco’s because is sounds soooo much coolier that way) then your set up should compliment itself. Op, this guys a good shot up in SF! He just started the beginning of this year too, with a pretty pricey rig also. He said he hired a great instructor that was teaching him to shoot out at 1k as well. You don’t happen to know him, do you? I’m sure you’ll be following in his foot steps very soon.

There isn’t an international standard in this hobby dude. If you have a shooter that has never shot past 25yds and they hit at 100 or 500, that’s a big step/accomplishment for them. If you have a shooter who has never had the chance to shoot past 500 get hits at 1000, that’s a good day for them. Who are you (or anyone for that matter) to say otherwise?

Haha, yea...was going to tell him he was lucky to be trained by someone that was 100% and that i was trained by someone that was only 50%....explains why I can shoot the fleas off a dogs back at 2000 yards with a 22 half the time and the other half can’t hit the walls of a room sized wet paper bag even though my FFP was inside the bag.

You know, the $10k rig isn't half as impressive as he makes it sound. Afterall, $8k of that was spent on the Quigley Ford scope with the magical BDC reticle that allows for first shot cold bore hits out to medium range.
I'm picturing the 100% Marine sniper as a former terminal Lance 0151 - good on the kid. Getting paid to show some San Fran land lord how to shoot an expensive rifle. Kind of a bonus, this guy gets to shoot some guy's expensive rifle, while paid to be at the range. Kind of a sweet gig if you think about it... especially with these crazy ammo prices right now.
