Make a fixed 10x Scope?..

Granted im still a Noob in the Precision rifle world (All my other rifles are surplus'!)

So right now im thinkin about getting a SS 10x to learn on for a year or two...to allow funds to gather for my hobby...

Anyway..Id love to get a Nighforce when i upgrade..But im not a big fan of Variables..I think it'd be neat for them to make a fixed 10x...

Just a thought..maybe some of you know something?

I guess i dont have a good answer for that one.. ha.. I guess their 2.5x10 would be just the same..

Re: Think NightForce will ever...

Some low end scopes have parallax problems with the variable powers or point of impact shifts between powers. On a high end scope like a NF this problem would be very minimal to non existent. I saw shawn carlock test his NF in a video between all the power settings and his group was centered into 3/4 moa. The 2.5-10x would be a fine optic.

Re: Think NightForce will ever...

What is it that you don't like about variables? Are you concerned about the precision of the 10x reading? If you just want to shoot at 10x, I can understand your uncertainty if using a 3.5-15 or 5.5-22. I would just go with the 2.5-10x32, as you can just crank it to 10x and not worry about whether it is truly 10x.

To be honest, I don't think NF will go in that direction. The market for variables has been trending up over the years. Every scope they market seems to be very well calculated for demand; I don't think that any one of their scopes overwhelmingly outsell another. So I would think that if they were gonna do up a fixed power, they probably would have done it a while ago.

The only scope I use that is a fixed power is the ACOG, but that it only on a 16" AR.

Re: Think NightForce will ever...

There's no need for a fixed 10x scope from NF. They offer a 2.5-10 for anyone wanting 10x and their variables are plenty tough so there's no need to worry about a variable.
