Just wondering if I'm on the right track. I've always build AR and my last bolt gun was a 700 SPS and I don't want to repeat my mistakes.
Right now I have an amazing Noveske 300BLK but I'm relocating to Yellowknife, NWT and I'd like to have a bolt-gun setup that mimics my AR as much as possible but at the same time be able to do long range (800-1000m) and perhaps be able to hunt game.
I'm planning to buy a Tikka T3 light 308 for ~700$ and have a Benchmark 18.75" 1/8 twist installed to handle the heavy Berger 190 and be able to stabilize SMK240 subs. Base would be EGW 20MOA and scope would be a Vortex PST 4-16 FFP. Haven't decided on rings, I'd like the idea of 1 piece ADM QD rings to be able to switch between my AR and my Boltgun but it's probably a ton of trouble for cheekweld, eye relief, etc.
The last thing I would buy would be a XLR Evolution chassis and I would use the same stock and grip as my AR15. I was wondering if the Evolution stock use a standard A1 tube and could be installed on a normal AR15 receiver?
Also, I'd like to handload subs, is trailboss still the best powder for that and do you still need to drill the flash hole ? What kind of accuracy I might be looking at compared to 300blk subs?
So I'm pretty much looking at a 3500$ build (including gunsmithing fees) for what I'd believe would be a tack driver. Anything wrong with this ? Should I go with a different action (R700 or 10FP) since I'm rebarelling anyway might as well true it ?
