How many can go in at a time?"At some point, officers with guns drawn were seen searching a port-a-potty. "
How many does it take??
+1 No shit. That's pretty hardcore. All five hit, three dead, and guy comes out uninjured in a real world shooting. Dude gets an A from me.

How many can go in at a time?
Ha! Yeah... I live in one of the most gun-rights-friendly states in the country. So, no.... I don't "feel that way" because of where I live. I get the feeling this was a gang rivalry or drug deal "gone bad" situation, based on many many years of studying these cases. I am very well-versed on the laws of self-defense.
Lots of shell casings OUTSIDE the house. It was a "shoot-out." FIVE guys "invaded" an occupied house? And, the shooting continued outside the home, on the street?
There's more to the story, I suspect.
Yes... it's POSSIBLE that this is a true random home invasion with an innocent victim. It's possible. But, I wouldn't put money on it. I'm going to try to follow this case to see if more details emerge that will distinguish it as a true self-defense scenario. I HOPE that's the case. But, I've got a nagging feeling the "invaders" were KNOWN to the victim. They knew each other.... but, they weren't "friends," eh?
So, based on the little to no information presented. You assume the victim of the home invasion is involved in illegal activity, and should be investigated as so.That is a pretty unfair bias.
I'm not assuming anything. But, I am pointing out the rather obvious possibility, given the context of the story (as it's being reported SO FAR). I've also said, multiple times, that I hope I'm wrong.![]()
If it's truly a case of self-defense against a random home invasion, then I say, "damned good shootin', Tex!" And, good riddance to the thugs!
I really, really want that to be the case. But, I've reviewed hundreds and hundreds of these cases. I even have a FB page dedicated to the subject (of successful DGUs). Based on the (poor) reporting so far, it looks doubtful to me. HOPEFULLY, the media will follow up on the investigation and report on it. Again... I hope my suspicion is wrong.
Gunfire was exchanged. The 20-year-old resident victim won. "Bigly."
And a range membership . Training .Which makes it even more badass. Being a fast and accurate shooter is one thing, but being able to keep your head in one place and make consistent hits while bullets are flying at you as well? That takes a certain level of warrior instinct as well as balls.
This deserves a solid A right here. 5 perps all hit. 3 DRT, 1 more at hospital.......We should get a GoFundMe page going so we can get this man a proper AR, mags and ammo.

If you know where this happened, what are the odds that the resident is an undocumented in possession? All of the portable goods of value that were stolen from my home back in the nineties were sold at a flea market a few blocks from this shooting. HPD Major Crimes said it was a five man crew lead by a Salvadoran that they knew with prior felonies, violent too, but they couldn't give him to INS. That was when I learned what a sanctuary city was.
That is a damn shame man,
This 'sanctuary' bullshit is not going to last long in a lot of places. People are getting REAL tired of the antics of these unwelcome invaders making a brazen mockery of law and order wherever they go.
As for the resident (the armed homeowner?) being undocumented? Highly unlikely. BUT, the five man crew that got their shit handed to them being illegals, or members of a gang like MS13 is highly likely.
As a matter of fact, I HOPE that the mofo's that got dirt-napped belonged to a crew of thievin', rapin' illegals. I am going to crack open a can of celebratory Bud right now if that is the case.
I give him an A and glod Bless TX.
Some of you armchair gunfighters need to STFU. Almost point blank range starting from the unarmed position under duress with guns pointed at your head to turning the tables on them and winning a gunfight 5 on 1..
Make no mistake the deaths will added to the "gun violence death numbers" and this will count as a mass shooting.OK... just checked for updated reports. Possibly some good news! Despite my previous skepticism, I am VERY MUCH an advocate for the 2A and armed self-defense.
It appears the victim DID know these guys... "in passing," and that they may have targeted him for money and jewelry.
So, the story goes that two masked and armed men burst into his house, asking for money. He initially thought it was a joke. When he realized it wasn't, he FEIGNED retrieving some money, but instead grabbed his loaded AK-47. I fucking love it! :-D Gunfire was exchanged. The 20-year-old resident victim won. "Bigly."
They are still investigating, of course. But, it's looking like a good shoot. A very good shoot. And, there are several points here to be made in our (2A / armed self-defense) favor.... and against the anti-gun narrative:
- An EBR (evil black rifle) is, in fact, a good defensive weapon.
- It is morally unconscionable and UNCONSTITUTIONAL to deny a legal adult (18 - 20 years old) the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. (as some states are now doing... and is proposed federally)
- Contrary to what Shannon Watts (Moms Demand Action - giggle) said, "Armed self-defense never happens... the data shows it never happens".... Yeah... it happens. A lot!
- Banning standard capacity magazines endangers law-abiding citizens.
I could go on. But, again... GOOD NEWS, I think! I will continue to follow the story. I do this on a regular basis and use these cases to make our points for the 2A on social media. Been doing it for many years.

PS... I'm thinking the dozens of evidence markers outside the house are casings from the invaders shooting back at the house as they retreated (and bled out).
Well do we know he missed, or never had the chance as perp shit himself and ran before he showed his face? Solid B+ regardless.this is texas, no slack for a miss with a gun
I think that we should have a law that if the deceased parties are found guilty, upon adjudication the party that killed the offenders receives a payment per person from the state govt. for services rendered as well as a letter of commendation.
Killed 4 outa 5, nice work.
Just saved the system beau coup bucks housing these POS's.

It doesn't happen like that, despite what the MSM would have you believe. Random people just do not go around killing other random people. Of all murders in the USA each year only about 150-200 are random. If you are assaulted/attacked you will most likely know your attackers. It could be a simple connection, and even a short one. Like some guy you bumped into in the grocery store aisle. And then fights you in the parking lot 15 min later.Usually stories lacking detail like this... involve parties that are known to each other. I'm inclined to believe this was not a random home invasion. Also... lots of casings OUTSIDE the home. Hmmmm..... There's more to this story.
I'd LIKE it to be a true case of self-defense against an unknown criminal party. But, I have doubts.

5 on 1 was a planned attack for sure.
i still remember seeing that big team going after just the one remaining loser boston marathon bomber, loaded to the hilt with ar-15's and/or m4's, 'standard' capacity mags (ie 30 rounders) and the like. if it takes that big of a team and a loadout to go after one loser, and little ol' me might have to defend the homestead myself against multiple attackers, i'd like to have what they had, and why should i be denied.1. An EBR (evil black rifle, like the AK-47 in this case, or an AR-15) is, in fact, a worthy home-defense weapon.
2. A ban on standard-capacity magazines is unconscionable, indefensible, and UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Why might we need a magazine with a capacity greater than some arbitrarily-chosen low number? Because we might need more than 5, 6, or 7 rounds to defend ourselves. That's why.

That's essentially what I was trying to convey earlier (which didn't "sit well" with some). I doubted that it was a random, garden-variety home invasion. These guys knew each other. The latest report said that the victim knew the attackers "in passing" and that they may have targeted him for cash and jewelry.
Look at the house (and neighborhood). A guy that lives in THAT house has a lot of cash and jewelry???
In any case, so far, it looks like it's a "good shoot." The victim may want to consider changing his lifestyle, though.![]()
The story does serve to make some points against the anti-gun-rights folks:
That's why. The two loudest sounds you can hear from a firearm are: A bang when you expected a click.... and a CLICK when you NEEDED a bang (to save your own life).
3. The recent trend calling for restrictions on 18 - 20 year old ADULT CITIZENS, barring them from their Constitutional RIGHT to Keep and Bear Arms is... unconscionable, immoral, indefensible, and UNCONSTITUTIONAL. A young, married couple with a child should be barred from defending themselves? A single 19 year old mother? They're old enough to vote, serve in the military, serve on a jury, be tried in court as an adult, get married and buy a home... but, not exercise their 2nd Amendment Right? Just THAT one? Bullshit.
4. The anti-liberty / gun-control faction will use this case to bolster their "mass shooting" stats. That's not hyperbole. Five people were shot. That makes it a "mass shooting." That they were criminals is moot. It advances their citizen disarmament agenda. They absolutely will do it, as they've done it before. (They included the name of the "Boston Marathon Bomber" in their list of "gun violence" deaths.)
Stop worrying how the other side sees things, they see you and the Constitution as something that needs to be killed, accept that and the fact that you get a choice to live as a slave or die a free man. Stop with the worrying.
you seem obsessed over what the other side will say or think, in your post. maybe I am missreading your comments but you seem worried.
