This is not doing us any good.

This thread went a lot farther than I thought it would. My take away remains, the actions represented by the photo are not cool, and only tend to alienate those who might go our way. The best things to do are:

1-Educate your children young.
2-Vote
3-Be proactive
4-Make a convert...take some one shooting who has never been.
5-Dont dress up like a douchebag and make a public display to frighten people; if youre going to protest with a weapon, look clean cut...what ever that is, LOL.

To address another post above, Ive met a bunch of my local Sheriff's and cops and at least here, most are pretty decent guys. YMMV. Dont do stupid shit and they wont either. A bunch of them were at the rally in Richmond a couple of weeks back with a sign...

Grayson County Sheriff Richard Vaughan and others hold a sign saying "We Support The Second Amendment" during the Virginia gun rally in Richmond on 1/20/20. (Grayson County Sheriffs Office/Facebook)

At least one Virginia sheriff could be seen showing support for pro-gun rights activists who rallied at the Virginia Capitol building in Richmond on Monday.
Grayson County Sheriff Richard Vaughan was seen voicing his opposition to new gun control measures being discussed in the Democrat controlled Virginia state legislature. Vaughan said “If the bills go through as proposed, they will not be enforced. They are unconstitutional.”

You will never be able to make a far leftwing sheep understand the truth. The kool-aid they drink is far to strong and addicting to them. Where you should focus your efforts are on the moderate sector. If you can convert one of them, they will be our best ambassador. I agree dressing like Rambo will not help our cause. If we can show the salvageable masses we are not what their master tell them we are. We can win this war. Stooping to the level of the sheeple will not do us any good. Stay strong my brother and sisters!

These are antifa LARPers, not people like us. Notice their gear is 100% new and clean.

Shit when I do training it's weather dependent on what I wear, if not on the required list. I have run around in shorts with mags in my pockets before. I'll wear jeans if it's cooler. I don't like showing up all tactical like I see some people. They tend to be the people who don't know shit, were never in the mil and are playing warrior for the weekend.

Serious or not; it depicts legitimate gun owners as nearly none of us actually are.

It feeds the fire of disdain and condemnation that the Left piles on all legitimate and law abiding gun owners. The impression it leaves is false, and serves only those who would stifle gun ownership freedoms.

It's America and we can speak as we wish.

Acting out is another thing which recent permissiveness has enfolded under the same flag. I'm not at all sure that's where it belongs.

Those young people represent someone; and I'm absolutely sure it's not me.

What they wear, they wear to intimidate. Guns are not for intimidation. If you bring it, if you carry it openly, it's because it's there to be used.

Wrong message to the wrong people.

Id agree with you for the most part. To me, it represents a symptom of a broken system that so many still want to try and follow. At some point there is going to be a clash between two different ideologies, right or wrong, the system is failing or too slow to clean up the mess, which is still failing.

Trying to fix things at this point is a fools errand when it’s blatantly obvious that the other side has no intention of working with or coming to an agreement with people that think like we do, nor do they plan to lose and if they do, they lie and cheat until they get what they want. There is no working with that. It’s like trying to help a drug addict when they have no desire to help themselves. It’s never going to work.

I think trying to do anything in the system is just prolonging the inevitable. I sure as hell do not want to see idiots like this everytime I go out, in our country, but sadly, that’s what it’s turning into and I’m pretty sure the left is so far off their rocker that they don’t care if it does become a shithole like that where there are people like that running up and down the streets. It’s clearly nothing they’ve ever experienced themselves or they wouldn’t want it either. The sad reality is do we want this to come on and end quickly or let it fester and become much worse than it was, giving these maniacs more time to prepare?I’m not sure it matters. It’s coming. Nobody wants it and shit even 3 months ago I’d have told you and did tell people it’s never going to happen, that was some kind of jacked up fantasy, but now I’m not so sure.

The thing I dislike most is that this behavior is likely a symptom of the divide and conquer mindset the Left's mentors have long advocated. I'm not for stamping out this behavior, such an activity smacks entirely to much of the Left's 'ban it all' syndrome.

We are not them.

I sincerely hope this goes away of its own or falls to verbal persuasion.

IMHO, the behavior helps neither us, nor those employing it.
