I'm just now getting into rifles. I have a few hand guns and a shotgun but just purchased a new Savage rifle in 30-06. This is the first rifle I've ever owned and I just bought my very first rifle scope. While playing around with the adjustable objective lens, I saw what looks like a crack all the way around on the inside. I dialed in 10 yards, all the way out to 300 and the scope provided a sharp image at all distances in between. So I don't no if this is normal for that crack to be there (maybe it IS normal, thus allowing me to turn the AO lens?) or if somebody at the factory torqued the heck out of it and it's busted. Here are some pictures so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about.
