Neat news today... Thompson Center Arms (which recently went 'back' into family ownership) has announced that it has acquired Green Mountain Barrels.

For precision stuff, I don't think GMB is a major player. But for AR's and certainly for the muzzle-loading world, they are a mainstay.

T/C has always been a great company and a great innovator. And for us muzzle-loader builders, GMB is a definite go-to.

Probably going to be a great marriage!

Cheers,

Sirhr

John Scandale of Keystone Accuracy used to use Green Mountain Barrels in AR builds. Not sure what he is doing these days or which barrels he may be using. Supposed to shoot pretty good. .22LR also.

Apparently John is temporarily closed dealing with a divorce. He cut many Green Mountain barrels for my match rifles and all of them were fantastic shooters,

He also put a Green Mountain on my early edition Vudoo 22. I wanted a profile and length that matched my centerfires so it has a 26in varmint contour. CCI standard velocity is only about an inch at 100yds, but all of the SK and Eley I've tried shoot at 3/8in or less.

GM make great barrels. I hope Thompson Center can keep the quality where it should be.

Wasn't barrel making capability the reason S&W bought T/C in the first place?
Funny we've come full circle in reverse.

I've owned some amazingly accurate T/C barrels. Though usually only after the were rechambered by someone else. They struggled with chambers at times.
