Gunsmithing Tikka M55 picatinny rail

Has anyone fitted a picatinny rail to one of these actions? If so did you adapt an existing rail for another action or use some fresh rail and custom make one?
Also, does anyone know whether the USO rails for the TRG will fit onto these dovetails as I think they are similar?

Regards

Re: Tikka M55 picatinny rail

Proper TRG-22/42 rails will not fit because they have recoil stops wehre Tikka 55 does not have holes.

Near Mfg makes Picatinny rails for Tikka T3 and they should work just fine with Tikka 55. Basically any T3 Picatinny rail should function. You may have drill holes for the screws to the Tikka 55 top rail though.

The real question is: Why bother ? One can make sloped scope rings with Tikka Optilock rings so eays it is almost silly.

Re: Tikka M55 picatinny rail

Well, we'll see how the optis perform. Scope already mounted and slope not a problem as I have a double turn PM11 on it. Will get to 800 easily (and maybe beyond depending on load).

Why? Well the optis are not fantastic rings and a rail with some low seekins on there would be better. Just mho.
