Tikka T3 260 Rem Build

If the Tikka T3 upgrade comes to market I will build my dream Tikka 260 rifle.

As this will be my first build/custom rifle I need some help.
It will be for bench target shooting.

It will use a SS Tikka T3 left hand action.
I want it to be suppressed so a 26" barrel should do. I found most come in 26" but one comes in 27". How long is to long for use with a suppressor?

What twist should it be? I found 1:8, 1:8.5 and 1:9. What barrel diameter? What should the end of barrel diameter to match a suppressor?
With a suppressor, should the barrel be fluted or not?
What stocks can I use (need to be left handed)?

Other than the Tikka T3 upgrade, receiver and barrel, what else is needed?

I guess I need to buy a new or used Tikka T3 rifle to get a receiver. What caliber rilfe should I get to match the 260 rem? Will i need a new bolt?

Re: Tikka T3 260 Rem Build

landtoy80,

You might be able to find a Tikka T3 LH in 6.5x55 right now and start shooting next week! It's twisted right to begin with for 140's and gives up nothing to 260Rem.Lapua makes excellent brass too.

Then you can start getting the other stuff as you go.

Out of those choices 7 mag would yield the most impressive ballistics with 162's.

You could always slow it down some and/or get a muzzle brake installed if you want less recoil for now.
